1. Overview of Metric Library

1.1 Find the Metric Library

To access the Metric Library:

  1. Click Planning.
  2. Click to expand Library.
  3. Click Metric in the sub-menu.

1.2 Metric Types and Their Uses

🔢 Number

Usage: For quantifiable data. When you need a straightforward measurement of frequency or quantity.

Examples: Count, time, frequency, amount.

👍 Rating

Usage: For subjective or qualitative evaluations. When assessing quality, perception, or performance based on opinions or set criteria.

Examples: Scores, rankings, satisfaction levels, quality ratings.

💻 Formula

Usage: For calculated, comparative data. When you need to analyse performance or relationships between different data points.

Examples: Ratios, averages, percentages, and efficiency rates.

Tips for Making the Most of Metrics

2.1 Default Metrics and Their Uses

By default, the system creates two (2) common metrics:

  1. **Difficulty: Rating type (**⭐ recommended)

    This metric helps estimate the effort needed for a project, making resource planning and timeline management more efficient.

    Regular tracking of this metric gives you insights into each team member’s capabilities, helping you identify skill gaps for training and determine who is ready to take on more complex, challenging tasks.

  2. Frames: Number type

    This metric tracks total frame count, commonly used in animation (2D, 3D, stop-motion), video production and editing, game development, VFX, and motion design.

2.2 Create a Metric

2.2.1 How to Start

This allows you to customise metrics that best align with your team’s or company’s goals.

To create a Metric:

  1. Click ➕ New Metric.
  2. Name your new Metric and choose your Metric type from these three (3) options:
    1. Number Metric
    2. Rating Metric
    3. Formula Metric
  3. Click Create Metric.
  4. Complete your Metric Details.
    1. Fill in the description (recommended)
    2. Set prefix/suffix name
    3. Set permissions
  5. Click Done to complete the creation.
