Developed with Creative Studios in mind, the TESSR Project Hierarchy is designed to follow a common setup in the industry.

The Hierarchy Breakdown

TESSR has five (5) levels in total, with four (4) entities and one (1) item level:

  1. Project (Root entity): The highest level of the hierarchy. It establishes the overall framework by setting timelines and allocating resources.
  2. Process: A sub entity of the Project entity. It breaks down the project into manageable segments, each with its own tasks.
  3. Episode: A sub entity of the Process entity. A further subdivision of the process, episodes represent individual sections or chapters within a workflow.
  4. Take: A sub entity of the Episode entity. The last entity level that contains the items.
  5. Scene (Item): Scenes are stored in the take level. Scenes are the level that artists work on. *Scene is not an entity but an item.

How to enable this project hierarchy?

As the hierarchy is already built into TESSR’s system, you just need to follow the presented steps in the Workspace and the structure will be automatically laid out along the progress.

Key takeaways

By default:

  1. In TESSR, the smallest activity is referred to as an 📃 Item; within the project, it's called a Scene.
  2. In TESSR, all levels above items are referred to as an 📁 Entity; within the project, they are called Processes, Episodes, and Takes.

However, it depends on how you would like to utilise the project hierarchy. You can use each level to how it fits best your needs and it should not limit your experience in managing projects with TESSR.
